Our Story
It was love at first sight in October 2018, at the infamous Casa Cervantes Halloween party. Kaitlyn came to Wellesley that night knowing she would find her wife at the party. Emily just wanted to keep her RA job after campus police got called to Casa at 4 am. Kaitlyn saw Emily frantically shouting that campus police was coming, so nobody (including her) would get in trouble. Kaitlyn turned to their darling friend Tiana, pitched herself on the spot as the perfect future wife, and made Tiana promise to tell Emily that Kaitlyn liked her. Emily messaged Kaitlyn on Instagram, and after a four-hour date, they both knew that this was it.
First Dates...
Within the first months together, both Emily and Kaitlyn were sure that they had met their life partner. Since the beginning their relationship has always been full of care, thoughtful gestures, and joyful adventures. Some of their favorite early moments included their brief stint as members of the Wellesley sailing club, roadtrips to Maine, Kaitlyn's first visit to Emily's hometown, and a date at the Mashantucket Pequot Museum. After 4 years of on and off distance they finally moved together to Williamsburg, VA where Emily is pursuing her PhD and Kaitlyn is working in digital marketing for a fine jewelry company!
...To Engaged!
Emily and Kaitlyn proposed to each other on the same day! Early in the morning, Emily put together a beautiful picnic at their favorite local park. She thought of every detail, from Champagne with glitter to handmade bread. Later that afternoon, Kaitlyn popped the question at sunset on their porch which had been transformed with flowers (and Bert happily looking alongside!) It was a beautiful day and they can't wait for the rest of their life together!
